Getting started
What the tuck?
You are now a part of Bib + Tuck, the most curated online community of shoppable personal closets. We bring together the chicest gals to buy and sell clothes, directly from each other’s closets.
Where does the name come from?
The name “Bib and Tuck” actually comes from an old custom of the English aristocracy where women were told to “wear their best bib and tuckers” - meaning to wear their finest outfits.
What does it mean to Bib and Tuck?
To “bib” an item means to list it, or put it up for sale. To “tuck” means to purchase someone else’s item. It’s our haute couture spin on “give and take,” if you will.
So why sell my clothes?
As we like to say, your “too tight’s” are another’s “just right’s”. Bib + Tuck offers a platform where you can post the pieces you’ve lightly loved, purchased impulsively, or just changed your mind about – and then have them fund your next find, or your wildest dreams. It’s barter, people, welcome to the sharing economy. Don't be surprised if you get totally addicted.
Can I invite my style crushes?
Of course, invite friends here. As we like to say, keep your friends close and their closets closer. As an added bonus, you get X bucks when a friend you invite tucks his or her first item.
How can I get the B+T iPhone app?
Download the app here.
Can I buy and sell on B+T if I’m not in the U.S.?
Bib + Tuck is currently only available in the United States. We hope to be available to international customers very soon, so please check back!
Selling
Do you only take designer clothes?
No, at Bib + Tuck, Chloe lives very happily alongside Zara, just like any real closet. Check out our list of brands we approve and don’t approve here.
How do I sell on B+T?
It’s free and simple. Just snap a picture, add a detailed description, and see how easy it is to cash in on your closet. Bib your first item now and get a $5 credit!
How do I photograph my stuff?
We recommend shooting on a hanger against a white background. Make sure to include a full front shot, back shot, and a detail shot. For those of you who don't have the time or the energy to take a photo, take a deep breath and smile, because if your item exists online, you can grab the images from the retailer's website and avoid ever pulling out your camera!
How can I sell faster?
The key to making a sale is taking great photos and adding as much information as you can about your listing (material, measurements, etc…). You might also consider spreading the word to your friends. Head on over to your item page to share your closet on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest. If that doesn’t work, try reducing the price. Who doesn’t love a bargain?
What are the fees for selling on B+T?
Once your item sells, we will charge a 15% commission - the rest is yours to keep. That’s it. No listing fees, no hidden fees.
How do I price my item?
Pricing is up to you! You will most likely find that highly priced items won't sell (everyone has access to Google). We recommend pricing anywhere between 30-60% off the original price, depending on the item’s condition and how long you’ve had it.
How do I contact the buyer?
To privately message a buyer, visit his or her profile page and click “send message". You can also locate your sales history by visiting “My Activity” and clicking "message seller”.
What happens when a buyer reports an “item not as described”?
If a buyer receives an item that was significantly misrepresented in the listing (including but not limited to representing a fake as authentic, or selling damaged goods without disclosing the damage in the listing) we will ask for photos to substantiate the claim and to compare it to the seller’s description at the time of sale. If the buyer’s claim is verified, Bib + Tuck will issue a refund and charge the seller for the full amount of the refund, including any associated shipping costs.
What if I have no time to take photos?
Don’t worry, email us at concierge@bibandtuck.com and we can arrange to photograph, list, and ship items for you.
Shipping
How much do I pay for shipping when I buy an item?
Shipping is always included in the price of your purchase.
I just made a sale, how do I ship?
Congratulations! We will send you a pre-paid, pre-addresses USPS Priority Mail shipping label when an item sells. Please make sure you print out and use our shipping label to send out your order to avoid delays in receiving your earnings since each label has a tracking number connected to your order. If you do not use our shipping label, we cannot compensate or reimburse you for a lost package.
What do I do if I don’t have a printer?
You will need access to a printer so consider all available printing options. Remember, you can always use your office printer, a friend's, or your local Kinko's!
What kinds of boxes can I use to ship my sale?
You can use any standard packaging materials you have lying around at home; boxes labeled "Priority" at the post office are free!
Getting paid
I shipped my sale. How do I get paid?
Once the buyer receives your item, we release the money to you within 3 days of delivery straight to your Bib + Tuck account. You can then transfer the funds directly into your bank account or use them to shop other closets.
How do I redeem earnings from my B+T account?
Simply visit your “Wallet Balance” page and click on the “Cash Out” button. From there, you will be asked to enter your bank account information.
My payout failed and my earnings were returned to my B+T Wallet. What should I do?
This happens when there is a typo or error in the bank account information you entered. You can go back to “Cash Out" to reenter your information. Please make sure the details are entered into the correct fields, as they are exactly shown with your bank, and you are not mixing up the account and routing numbers. Entering incorrect information (such as a wrong address or name) can result in a failed payout. You will also want to make sure you are using the electronic transfer routing number. After you enter the correct details in your payout page, it will take 3 to 4 business days for the money to appear in your bank account.

I’m freaking out - I haven't received my order.
If you're freaking out because you're impatient, have a rancho relaxo. But if you’re freaking out because it's been longer than 10 business days, you haven't heard from the seller, or your item hasn’t been shipped, email us at help@bibandtuck.com and we will cancel the transaction and give you a full refund.
The seller does not answer me, what do I do?
Don’t panic - you’ll want to give your seller some time to reply! Generally, if a seller is active on the site, they’ll reply within 24 hours. If you paid for the item through Bib + Tuck, they have 10 days to ship their item. If they miss that deadline, we can cancel the transaction and refund your original form of payment.
What is B+T’s return policy?
Bib + Tuck currently accepts returns on apparel and shoes ONLY - all handbags, jewelry, and accessories are final sale and may not be returned unless in the case of fraud or damage.

If you would like to return an eligible item, please email us at help@bibandtuck.com within 3 days of receiving your order with the Order #, item name, and reason for return. Once we approve your return, you are in charge of shipping the item back to us. Return shipping is not reimbursed by Bib + Tuck, and returns will incur a $7 re-stocking fee. We recommend using traceable postage, as we cannot be held liable for any items lost in transit. If your return is approved, you will receive an email stating that your return was approved and credit will be posted to your Bib + Tuck account. We reserve the right to decline any returned items that are shipped outside the designated return window.
